This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use Measure The Lawn, a free measurement and planning utility for lawns and outdoor spaces.
Measure The Lawn is provided by GREENERLAWN SERVICES LLC, Missouri, United States. By using the site, you confirm you are at least 18 years old.
Information we collect
Address and location. When you enter an address or use “Use my location,” we use that information to center the map and run the measurement tool. We do not use address or location to identify you. Requests may be processed by Mapbox, our hosting provider, or related infrastructure as part of delivering the service.
Hosted share-link data. If you create a hosted share link, we may temporarily store a measurement snapshot and share identifier so the link can work. That snapshot may include the geometry you drew and derived values such as area, perimeter, distance, and cut-out information. We use that storage only to provide the share feature, rate limiting, abuse prevention, and operational support.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the service is used, such as page views, tool usage, and shared-result engagement. Google Analytics collects data according to its own policies. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
Logs. We or our service providers may log requests from time to time for operation, security, and abuse prevention. We do not use those logs to identify you personally.
Map and geocoding. Map and geocoding services are provided by Mapbox. See Mapbox Terms of Service and Mapbox Privacy Policy.
How we use information
We use the information above to provide the measurement service, generate and open share links, protect the service from abuse, fix errors, and improve the product. We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with service providers such as Mapbox, Google Analytics, Upstash, and hosting providers only as needed to run the service.
Where data is processed
Data may be processed in the United States or wherever our service providers operate infrastructure needed to deliver the product. We do not use this data for personal profiling.
Advertising
We may use Google Ads or other advertising services in the future. Third-party advertisers may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads and measure performance. Their use of data is governed by their own policies, such as How Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites or apps.
Cookies and similar technologies
We may use cookies or similar technologies for essential operation, analytics, and advertising if enabled. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Data retention
Browser-local measurement state may stay on your device until you clear it. Hosted share-link data is retained only for a limited period needed to support the feature and may expire automatically or be removed earlier for abuse, security, or operational reasons. Analytics retention is governed by the analytics provider. Log retention is governed by the relevant service provider.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the data we hold, but no system is completely secure.

Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the current version on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
